Dear Parents,
Where has all the time gone? It is hard for me to believe that the first half of the school year is over, but it is. Everyone has made great progress at the end of this second quarter and I look forward to the growth that will continue to occur when we return in January J. This Friday, December 22nd will be an In-service and mark the beginning of Winter Break. We will return to school on Monday, January , 2018. A big thanks to all of the parents who chaperoned sent in donations for the food drive! We have collected a variety of items and will be delivering them next week sometime. Parents, please send in permission slips for our swimming trip to the Alaska Club by Monday. We need to have a count of kids and drivers to plan accordingly. If you are able to drive, please make sure the office has your updated insurance information on file no later than Wednesday so that we can plan ahead of there are any changes that need to happen with the placement of students. We have several activities planned for the week, including the ever so popular Gingerbread House making! We will be doing this activity the morning of Thursday, December 21st. Each child will need to have their own can on frosting for their houses. At the end of this newsletter, you will find a list of items we will be using together as a whole class. Please provide one or more items to be shared with the class. Also, there will be no homework next week! Again, thank you all for supporting our efforts in this classroom by chaperoning field trips, volunteering time to work with students in class, putting together the snack planners, providing snacks, giving spelling tests, and for all of the many wonderful things you do for this class! Have a Happy Holiday, and I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year! Snack helpers for next week are Sophie, Ethan, Liam, and Eugene. We now have 26 students. Mrs. Jasmin

We have finished up our study of the Solar System this week and will move on to the 2nd Great Lesson, the Coming of Life, next week. We will continue to study Verbs next week and do a short unit on Holidays from around the world. If any of you would like to come in between this week and next to do a small presentation on a holiday or tradition, we would love to have you!
